Osaka Date Plan: Shinsekai

It is no exaggeration to say that tourists always come to Shinsekai when they visit Osaka.

Shinsekai’s Tsutenkaku Tower is a symbol of the city. Not only is the view from the “Golden Observatory” and the “Observatory of Light” a must-see but the inside of the observatory is also unique to Osaka and unlike anything else in Japan

Designed in imitation of Paris or New York, Shinsekai is Osaka’s symbolic downtown area with a retro atmosphere.

Kushikatsu (skewered pork cutlet) stores and other restaurants line up in rows, and the scene is typical of Osaka, crowded with excessive signboards. In particular, the shopping street “Janjan Yokocho”, located in the southeast, retains a Showa-era retro atmosphere with its kushikatsu stalls and Shogi clubs.

A short walk to Tennoji Station brings you to a skyscraper complex called Abeno Harukas, the tallest building in Japan from 2014 to 2023. It boasts a height of 300 meters above the ground, and from its observation deck, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Kyoto, the Akashi Straits, and Mt. Ikoma

Shinsekai area, where the deep world of Osaka unfolds.
Please come and enjoy it for yourself.
