Obon 2025

Nagoya

Obon is a much-loved tradition in Japan — it’s a long holiday in mid-August where many Japanese take time off to return to their hometowns and spend time with family. Think like a Buddhist Christmas or New Year’s, but in summer.

During this time, people step away from work or school for a few days to a week. They head back to the place they grew up, reconnect with local friends, and spend time with loved ones. Many also visit family graves to thank their ancestors for life itself, sharing meals and gatherings in their honor.

Naturally, our ladies currently living in cities like Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto, and Osaka will also head back to the countryside to be with their families. As such, we will have fewer women available in the city for work or other activities — so if you need to arrange anything, it’s best to make your request about two weeks before Obon starts.

Thank you for your understanding.
