The Kyoto State Guest House is a building with a long history and is a wonderful place to enjoy traditional Japanese architectural styles. It was once used as the Palace for the Japanese Imperial Family. Today it is open to the public and used by tourists and as a venue for special events.
The Kyoto State Guest House opened in April 2005 as a national guesthouse, to cordially welcome guests from abroad and deepen their understanding of Japanese history, traditions, and culture.
The building features a beautiful Japanese garden, traditional tokonoma (alcove), shoji (paper sliding doors), and fusuma (sliding doors), allowing visitors to experience traditional Japanese culture and aesthetics. Visitors can spend a relaxing time in a prestigious atmosphere while experiencing Japanese history and culture.
