In this issue, we will describe Golden Week precautions in each area.
Tokyo
In the Tokyo area, the use of public transportation increases every year during the long vacation of Golden Week. In particular, Tokyo Station, Narita Airport, and Haneda Airport suffer severe congestion. Travel from Tokyo Station and departure procedures at Narita and Haneda airports will be very time-consuming.
Nagoya
Around Nagoya, the number of passengers will increase rapidly, especially at Nagoya Station and Centrair Airport. The Shinkansen bullet train will have more than a 100% boarding rate, and some people will not be able to sit while traveling. Centrair Airport especially will be very crowded for departure & arrival procedures.
Kyoto
In the Kyoto area, Kyoto station users, cabs, buses, and all kinds of transportation will take longer than usual arrival time due to the crowds of people. Major spots such as Kinkakuji, Kiyomizu-dera, and Arashiyama, will all be crowded. So please travel earlier than planned.
Osaka
Subway and buses around the stations will be quite crowded at Shin-Osaka, Umeda, Namba, and Tennoji stations. Ebisu Bridge in Dotonbori, a major tourist attraction, will be packed with tourists, making it difficult to take pictures of the Glico sign and the Dotonbori scenery.
